F.E.A.R.(FIGHTING EXCUSES AND RISING)
F.E.A.R. is a life coaching program with a mission to inspire, motivate and empower young adults ages 16-29, who want to get their life back on track after a "wrong turn"(dropping out of high school, incarceration, etc...) I want them to know that there is amazing power in GETTING BACK UP!
The vision of F.E.A.R. is to be among the top providers of prevention programs to prevent the "wrong turns" that our youth are taking, God willing.
Herspiring Bizness will collaborate with other organizations who share a similar mission. It will also facilitate its mission in conjunction with statewide GED programs. It will provide assistance in the area of personal growth and development for the students. The main objective of F.E.A.R. is to assist each participant in planning for a better future beyond successful completion of the GED course and exam and re-entry into society after incarceration. This program is not limited to only troubled youth. All youth are invited to take part in any workshops or events with F.E.A.R.
According to research from the 2011 Annual Statistical Report on the GED Test found at http://www.gedtestingservice.com/uploads/files/4176ab251366d3ccfb4e94a9a888e67a.pdf
· Educational reasons were the motive candidates cited most for taking the GED. Approximately 63.8% of all candidates indicated that they tested for educational reasons
· More than half of all candidates (52.6%) indicated that they tested for personal reasons, such as being a positive role model and personal satisfaction.
· Half of candidates (51.2%) identified employment reasons (primarily to get a better job)
Also, according to their research, in 2011 there were 1,089,940 adults in the state of New Jersey without a High School Diploma, 13,752 were candidates for GED testing, 13,375 actually completed GED testing, and 8,547 actually passed!
My thought, after reading this report, is that many people want to improve their education for the purpose of gaining better employment and to become a better person in their families and communities. Education is an important value to many people and they feel very inadequate without it. In this American society we are conditioned to believe that wealth and education have a close relationship and it has proved to be the path to success, however one chooses to attain it. Simply put, Our youth need to know where they are going rather than end up where they don't want to be or end up becoming a burden on their families and society.
As a Life Coach I help them answer some of the following questions:
- Who am I?
- What do I truly value and why?
- What do I truly desire?
- What do I need in order to "upgrade" my game to meet and exceed my goals?
- What is stopping me from achieving my goals?
- Do I possess the ability to achieve my goal?
- Do I possess the knowledge to achieve my goal?
There are many questions but this was only a few to shed light on the need for a life coaching program in addition to a GED program. Passing the GED test is an accomplishment but it should not be the END! Pushing forward will not only increase positive self image, esteem, and confidence in the individual but will send an inspiring message to others that learning never stops, it is a lifetime journey
I am looking for supporters to launch this program in NJ, NY, CT, DE, and PA
Please send me an email email@example.com if you or anyone you know are interested in joining me on this project!
